Sauna as a mindfully designed regenerative experience

🔥 A Finnish sauna is based on high temperature and dry air. In design, this means careful attention to seating ergonomics, the right choice of timber, proper air circulation and the possibility to adjust the intensity of heat.

🌿 A steam sauna creates its atmosphere through humidity, which calls for soft lighting and materials resistant to moisture. Texture, acoustics and a sense of intimacy all play an important role here.

❄️ Alternating rituals combine heating, cooling and rest. A well-designed user journey should guide people smoothly through each stage of regeneration.

🪵 Ritual sauna use, with aromatherapy, infusions and ceremonies, requires a space that supports focus, good visibility and comfort for both the sauna master and participants.

In our studio, we design wellness areas as cohesive compositions of function, atmosphere and detail. We create spaces that support regeneration, build a distinctive mood and respond to the real ways people use saunas. The image shows a visualisation of one of our projects in central Warsaw.
