Cundall Warsaw

The redesign of the Polish offices of Cundall, an international engineering and design firm, is a considered response to the needs of a rapidly growing team.

The project covers the entrance area, the corridor, the kitchen with its social space and the terrace. Its main aims are to strengthen the brand’s visual identity, to create a representative space that makes a good first impression on clients, and to give staff a functional and comfortable place to take a break.

The interior is built on a palette drawn directly from the company’s visual identity: deep, saturated blues broken by warm timber and accents in the brand’s characteristic yellow. A striking green wall begins at the entrance – a direct reference to sustainability, one of Cundall’s core values. The entrance is designed as a representative waiting area for business partners, with a coffee point, and at the same time as a friendly place where staff are greeted each morning. Considerable emphasis was placed on how it all works day to day: the design reorganises the storage system with a clear division between staff and visitors, and sets aside a drying space for the clothes of those who use the gym or cycle to work.

At the centre of the scheme is a kitchen designed on zero-waste principles. In the spirit of sustainable design, most of the existing furnishings are reused, including furniture and light fittings that will be given a second life through careful restoration. The heart of the space is a mobile, extendable island with folding chairs, letting the layout adapt to different uses – from everyday shared meals, through whole-team meetings, to social events. The terrace is an integral part of the project, designed as an area for rest and recovery, with durable materials that stand up to changing weather, soft lighting and carefully chosen planting, together forming an intimate space for relaxing in the open air.
